Gemma Atkinson has to explain BBC Strictly results to Mia after she asks why her dad Gorka Marquez didn't get cheered

Gemma Atkinson has shared the sweet moment her daughter appeared upset on her dad Gorka Marquez's behalf when he wasn't cheered on Strictly Come Dancing. The professional dancer was back in the ballroom this weekend alongside celebrity partner Helen Skelton.

Helen and Gorka scored an impressive 32 for their Foxtrot to Lil’ Red Riding Hood by Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs during the BBC One dance contest's Halloween special on Saturday night. The presenter channelled a sparkling Little Red Riding Hood while Gorka immersed himself into the role of the wolf during their haunting routine.

And judge Motsi Mabuse seemed the most impressed, telling the pair: "I honestly have to say I adore watching you dance," she told Helen, 39. "I see you getting stronger and stronger… I know it’s quite early but you are giving me some final vibes."

However, Helen, 39, and Gorka, 34, suffered a 'scary' moment on Sunday night when they were the last to find out they were safe and through to another week in the hit competition. While Strictly co-host Tess Daly says the couples are revealed in no particular order, the dancing couple and Fleur East and Vito Coppola were left to the very end with the latter facing the dreaded dance-off.

Despite Helen and Gorka being happy to get through, they couldn't hide their sadness at the latest bottom two and it was noted by Gorka's three-year-old daughter Mia that nobody appeared to clap and cheer for the pair like the other couples who found out they were heading into week seven.

Sharing a video on her Instagram Story, Gemma showed Mia looking slightly sad. "But he's back next week," the 37-year-old could be heard saying to her little girl. "Why were they not shouting?" the toddler then asked to which her mum replied: "They didn't shout him because he was in the last two but he's definitely, definitely back next week."

Gemma was watching the results with some friends, including CrossFit athlete Jamie Simmonds who also tried to explain what happened to Mia, saying if they shouted it looked like they would be cheering about the other couple who might've been going home.

"He's definitely back though," Gemma added as Mia jumped onto the sofa and she and Jamie let out a 'woo' to celebrate. The adorable moment came after Mia couldn't hide her delight at her Strictly 'crush' Will Mellor getting through to next week. Gemma filmed her little girl smiling as his and Nancy Xu's names were announced as safe.

It comes after Gemma revealed her daughter is a fan of the former Two Pints of Lager star and even named a giant Christmas elf after him. After showing Mia revealing the name of her new pal, the comments must have been coming in as Gemma later filmed another video telling her millions of followers that Strictly star and actor Will does in fact know about his new, inanimate namesake.

"Some people are asking does the real Will Mellor know that you like him?" Gemma said to her little girl who proceeded to put her hands on her hips. He does know, doesn't he? What did you get yesterday from Will?" the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actress asked. After initially saying 'the elf', Gemma revealed that Mia actually got a video message from the former Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisp star. When she asked what he did on the video, Mia showed a finger wag motion as if to say 'come here'.

"She likes him when he does this [geaturing a come here motion with her finger] in his dance and so he sent her a video saying, 'Hi Mia,' and does it to he," Gemma explained, seemingly referring to a few weeks ago when Will channeled Patrick Swayze during Strictly's annual Movie Week.

"So I've had to show it her about 46 times," Gemma then admitted. She also wrote alongside the video: "Will does know and he finds it hilarious [crying laughing emoji]. Gorka, not so much! He doesn't want her fancying anyone until she's at least 28."
