Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez baby: Strictly star tells fans she 'can't move' in candid pregnancy post

Gemma Atkinson has opened up on the difficulties of being pregnant, weeks after she revealed she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Gorka Marquez.

The former Emmerdale star announced her pregnancy earlier this month with a little help from her pet dogs Norman and Ollie.

Atkinson got candid about being an expectant mum as she jokingly warned Marquez not to come home as she was barely functioning on little sleep.

She shared a split of fearless character Cheetara from Thundercats and Krang from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to compare the two characters to her varying moods.

She captioned the Instagram post: “When people ask how I’m feeling being pregnant. Most days I luckily feel like Cheetara from Thundercats. A powerhouse, strong, incredible, magical super woman!

“The odd few days I’m Krang from Turtles. I can’t move properly, I’m bloated and I feel like there’s a Thai boxing match happening in my uterus. Today, after only 4hrs sleep it’s a Krang day so @gorka_marquez you know the drill, don’t come home without pizza or Doritos dude.”

Mocking his other half, Marquez responded to fellow Strictly star Brendan Cole’s advice to avoid going home altogether, to which he replied with a string of laughing emojis.

The post comes after Atkinson showed off her unborn child’s first pair of shoes on Tuesday.

Atkinson revealed that she had been given a pair of white trainers for her unborn tot after a meeting with Reebok, telling fans she “can’t cope” with the adorable sneakers.

The couple, who met while Atkinson was a contestant on Strictly in 2017, unveiled the big news earlier this month, with Marquez hailing it the “greatest gift in life.”

Atkinson clapped back at people asking her if she was “bothered” about gaining weight during pregnancy, saying that she is “just lucky enough to be with child.”
