Google has rolled out a faster version of Veo 3, its video generation model for the Gemini App and Flow. It was announced by Josh Woodward, VP at Google, via a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting performance improvements, better accessibility, and small but meaningful fixes.
🔥Veo 3 keeps growing like crazy. To keep up, we’re introducing Veo 3 Fast in @GeminiApp and Flow. It’s >2x faster, has the same 720p resolution, and a bunch of serving optimizations. The big headline: we can serve more of it, even for the Yetis!

Veo 3 Fast comes with over 2x speed improvements compared to the regular Veo 3 while maintaining 720p output quality. According to Josh, this version has been optimized for quicker serving and wider availability, which will allow more users to access it. Here’s everything you need to know about:
Key Changes for Users
- Gemini Pro members now get three Veo 3 Fast generations per day, replacing the earlier one-time 10-pack model.
- Flow Pro users can now generate videos using Veo 3 Fast at a cost of 20 credits per generation.
- Both models (Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast) have received an update to reduce random or gibberish subtitle issues, which was a common complaint among early adopters.
What’s Staying the Same?
Gemini Ultra and Flow Ultra members will continue to have access to the full-quality Veo 3 without any change in usage limits.
If you are interested in trying out the new Veo 3 Fast, then you will have to subscribe to a Google AI plan and use either the Gemini App for quick access or Flow for more advanced video generation workflows.
What’s Coming Next?
Josh also gave a quick update on popular feature requests:
- More country availability is in progress.
- Image-to-video support inside the Gemini App is currently being tested.
- Speech support for image-to-video and Workspace account compatibility are also under internal testing.
- Flow users can expect fewer generation blocks and more helpful error messages in upcoming updates.
Interestingly, these updates are coming when Gemini is surpassing its biggest rival, ChatGPT, in the downloads race. Recently, Similarweb released an update indicating that the Gemini app surpassed ChatGPT in App Store downloads in late April and early May 2025.
