Gemini has now received a new feature called Storybook. It allows you to turn simple prompts into fully illustrated, narrated storybooks. Starting today, users can describe any story they can imagine, whether it’s a bedtime tale, an educational guide, or a memory-based adventure, and Gemini will generate a unique 10-page digital book complete with custom artwork and audio narration. The feature is already available globally on desktop and mobile in more than 45 languages.
What makes this feature a standout is its flexibility and personalization capabilities. It allows you to choose the visual style ranging from pixel art and comics to claymation and crochet. The feature also allows you to upload your own photos and files to shape the story further.
For example, you can ask Gemini to explain the solar system in a way that’s understandable to a five-year-old or craft a story where an elephant teaches kindness to a younger sibling. You can also upload your kid’s drawing and have Gemini generate a narrative around it, turning it into a visual storybook.
Apart from that, it can also turn your family vacation photos into a personalized adventure story. The app stitches visuals, narration, and user inputs into a shareable format that feels custom-made.
I tried the new Storybook feature, and it’s working surprisingly well. The images were quite catchy, and the overall format was spot on. But just like any other AI tool, the quality of output depends heavily on the quality of your prompt. The more detailed your input, the better the story Gemini creates. That said, my initial impression is positive; this could be a very handy tool for teachers, parents, and even marketers in some cases.
While Gemini adds more features for end users, Google is also working on the backend of AI development. The company recently launched Kaggle Game Arena, a new public benchmarking platform where AI models compete in strategic games to measure their performance.
