Google has announced a new update to its Gemini app that allows users to automatically create entire Google Slides presentations using just a simple text prompt or an uploaded source file. The feature, powered by Canvas inside the Gemini app, wants to save hours of manual work by generating complete slide decks with themes, visuals, and structured content.
All you have to do is open the Gemini app, select “Canvas” from the toolbar, and ask it to “create a presentation.” You can either provide a topic or upload a document, and Gemini will take it from there, building a ready-to-edit presentation that can be exported directly to Google Slides for further tweaking or collaboration.
According to the company, the feature is designed to help a wide range of users. For example, professionals can turn a sales brief or company overview into a polished pitch deck. Marketers can use it to generate product launch presentations from campaign briefs, while researchers can feed it long reports and get concise summaries in slide form.
When it comes to the availability part, the feature is available now on the Gemini web app (gemini.google.com) and mobile web, with Android and iOS app support rolling out soon. It’s available across some Google Workspace plans, including Business, Enterprise, Education, and Nonprofits, as well as Google AI Pro and Ultra plans.
The company has already started a gradual rollout for both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, with full availability expected by November 12, 2025. There are no admin or end-user settings required to enable it.
