Filmmaker Shakun Batra has dropped a teaser and title of his upcoming film starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa.
After a year-long wait, the director announced on Monday that his romantic noir drama titled 'Gehraiyaan' is set to have its world premiere on an OTT platform on January 25, 2022.
The film is a relationship drama that dives into the "depths of complex modern relationships, adulting, letting go and taking control of ones' life path".
Sharing the teaser on social media, leading lady, Deepika wrote, "A piece of my heart…"
Siddhant penned an emotional note that read, "They say you leave pieces of yourself in everything you love. Maybe you’ll find my heart here."
Ananya gave us a hint of all that is come. She wrote, "It’s time to dive in a little deeper."
According to co-producer, Karan Johar, 'Gehraiyaan' is an intense, real, and honest observation of modern relationships. He said, "Shakun Batra has done a phenomenal job of portraying the complexities of human emotions. That, combined with the cast's earnest and powerful performances, make the film a truly compelling story."
Speaking about the film, director Batra described his film as a journey into the "intricacies of relationships", a mirror into modern adult relationships.
"How we traverse through the maze of feelings and emotions and how each step, each decision we make affects our lives and the lives of those around," he said in a statement.
The film also stars Rajat Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles.
