Gedson starts, Lucas Moura dropped - The Tottenham lineups Jose Mourinho could choose vs Norwich

The FA Cup provides Jose Mourinho and Tottenham with their most likely chance of silverware this season.

But they will have to end a poor run of form against a Norwich City side to progress to the quarter-final stage.

The Canaries visit Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night for the fifth round clash, but Spurs have lost three on the bounce in all competitions and need to up their game to progress.

Mourinho will have some big decisions to make with his team selection and we asked our Tottenham reporters and fans to name the team they would choose if they were in charge.

Mourinho wary of Norwich ahead of cup clash

Mourinho could well have another couple of attacking midfielders to call upon for this FA Cup tie.

Erik Lamela and Ryan Sessegnon are both back in contention, while Troy Parrott impressed the Spurs boss with his unselfish, hard-working performance for the U23s on Monday night and he will be on the bench against Norwich and is likely to get some game time.

Mourinho had a little joke with football.london about Tanguy Ndombele's efforts in one moment against Wolves but the Frenchman could well start against Norwich, a team he has impressed against already, in order to build up his fitness.

There needs to be changes in defence after conceding three goals and there is also the question over whether the trio of Steven Bergwijn, Dele Alli and Lucas Moura are continued to be run into the ground or whether one of them is rested.

Gold's team: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Tanganga; Lo Celso, Winks, Ndombele; Gedson, Alli, Bergwijn.

Rob Guest - Tottenham writer

Wednesday's FA Cup clash against Norwich City is the perfect opportunity to rest some players given Tottenham have a number of big games coming up over the next 12 days.

Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen should come in after missing out on Sunday against Wolves, with the likes of Davinson Sanchez and Ben Davies getting a breather.

Tanguy Ndombele should be given a chance in the starting XI to show what he can do in midfield after only getting 20 minutes on Sunday.

Gedson Fernandes did well in his short time on the pitch against Wolves and he deserves an extended run out after some decent cameos.

Bringing the January signing in means Lucas Moura drops down to the bench for a well-earned rest as he will be needed in the Premier League and Champions League over the next week or so.

Guest's team: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Tanganga; Winks, Lo Celso, Ndombele; Gedson, Alli, Bergwijn.

Lee Wilmot - Live editor and Tottenham fan

I would like to see Gedson Fernandes from the outset against Norwich.

And I'd be inclined to play him alongside Harry Winks in the middle of the park and give Tanguy Ndombele a bit more of a freer forward role. He still needs games, we have to give them to him.

Up front I'd like to see Lucas Moura through the middle with Steven Bergwijn in his more favoured wide role.

Other than that, I'd like Japhet Tanganga in the heart of the defence alongside Toby Alderweireld, with Ben Davies at left-back.

Wilmot's team: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Tanganga, Davies; Winks, Gedson; Lo Celso, Ndombele, Bergwijn; Moura.
