Gedson Fernandes opens up on life at Tottenham following coronavirus outbreak

It is very much business as usual at Hotspur Way despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Although Jose Mourinho's squad have been given the day off today after training as usual this week, they are expected back on the training pitch on Thursday.

football.london understands the Lilywhites have seen no symptoms of the virus amongst their players and it is believed that the Premier League are yet to advise those clubs currently without coronavirus cases to do otherwise.

Given the uncertainty over when exactly football will return with the Premier League suspended until April 3, Spurs loanee Gedson Fernandes has opened up on life at the club's training base in an interview with Portuguese publication A Bola (via Sport Witness).

"For now, everything is the same for us, everything is normal, we are training," said the 21-year-old. "But we don’t know tomorrow, it can get better, it can get worse, we don’t know, I’m looking forward, in fact, we’re all there to see what’s going to happen."

Amid the prospect of the suspension of football continuing beyond the first weekend in April, Gedson has stressed the importance of preparing for all potential outcomes.

"We don’t know what comes next, it may be possible to resume the competition, it may not be possible, everyone has to be prepared for all scenarios," he added.

"Our life remains normal, without major changes.

"We were a little surprised when the cases at Arsenal and Chelsea came up, but sometimes bad things happen.

"We don’t know tomorrow, when everything will be fine, nobody knows, we can only do what the whole world is doing, take precautionary measures, as much care as possible."

The Portuguese international has made nine appearances for Mourinho's side since moving to north London in the January transfer windwow.
