Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf welcomed the agreement to reinforce the two-month nationwide truce in Yemen on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Military representatives of the Government of Yemen, Iran-backed Houthi militias and the Coalition’s Joint Forces Command had agreed to take steps to build more trust and reinforce their commitment to the truce for the holiday.

Al-Hajraf hailed the efforts exerted the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, in reaching the agreement.

He also praised the efforts of the Coalition’s Joint Forces Command and all parties in supporting the truce.
