The GCC Ministerial Committee of following-up the implementation of the GCC joint work decisions held its 19th meeting on Tuesday at the Advisory Board of the Supreme Council headquarters, in Muscat.

The meeting discussed a number of important issues and adopted several recommendations. The ministers also viewed the report of the statistical indicators of the implementation of the GCC joint work decisions prepared by GCC Statistical Center (GCC-STAT). They studied the detailed performance panel of the implementation level in the Gulf common market prepared by GCC, according to Oman News Agency (ONA).

The meeting was chaired by the Secretary-General of the Oman Foreign Ministry, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, who stressed the important and active role the GCC Ministerial Committee played in following up on the implementation of the GCC Supreme Council decisions to achieve their visions and move forward towards enhancing the GCC states cooperation and joint work.

In his opening remarks, Busaidi, who is also Chairman of the Committee, said the Committee would further enhance the GCC people chances of development and prosperity, as well as strengthen the foundations of mutual ties and brotherhood.

Meanwhile, Kuwait's Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled al-Jarallah confirmed Tuesday that GCC counties have adopted many decisions to serve their citizens' interests.

Jarallah, who chaired his country’s delegation to the ministerial committee, stressed the importance of the GCC role in assuring the countries' keenness on preserving this experience.

“We meet every year to review the implementation of decisions in order to overcome any obstacles in this regard,” he said.

GCC Secretary-General Abdul Latif bin Rashid al-Zayani praised the ministerial committee’s efforts to follow up on the implementation of decisions of the joint work. He noted that there remained a number of resolutions which he hoped the competent GCC authorities would complete required procedures for their adoption.
