GBBO winner odds show favourite for the crown after Prue Leith spoiled 2017 final

It's almost time to discover the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2020.

Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith look set to judge bakers Peter Sawkins, David Friday, and Laura Adlington in Tuesday night's upcoming final on Channel 4.

Naturally, hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas will be on hand to support the trio of bakers, but which one will reign supreme?

Hopefully this year we won't have a repeat of Prue Leith accidentally leaking the winner of the 2017 series on Twitter with her premature congratulations to Sophie Faldo a whole 12 hours before the finale aired.

"No one told me judging a #gbbo final would be so emotional," she had written. "I wanted them all to win. Bravo," Prue penned, before naming Sophie as the winner.

Eventually realising her mistake, Prue deleted the tweet and apologised to fans who had the result spoiled.

Prue tweeted: "I am so sorry to the fans of the show for my mistake this morning, I am in a different time zone and mortified by my error."

Well, we doubt she will make the same mistake again, but what are the current odds for the GBBO 2020 winner?

The Great British Bake Off odds

It seems that heading into the final that Peter Sawkins is the one to beat, sitting as the favourite at odds of 2/5, according to bookmaker Ladbrokes.

Peter is the year's youngest contestant and was this series' first Star Baker, later going on to win the title for the second time in the semi-final, which also saw him win a famous Paul Hollywood handshake.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Peter flew out of the traps and won Star Baker way back in week one, and after another impressive performance in last week's semi, it's no surprise he's heading into tonight's final as clear favourite."

Meanwhile, David Friday sits at 9/4, having won Star Baker during a rather difficult biscuit week.

Finally, Laura Adlington is trailing behind at 8/1, having faced a difficult and tear-filled semi-final.

Despite being the underdog, could she pull it out of the bag for the final?

The following odds are available with Ladbrokes.

Peter Sawkins - 2/5
David Friday - 9/4
Laura Adlington - 8/1

The Great British Bake Off airs tonight on 8pm on Channel 4.
