The Great British Bake Off's Paul Hollywood boasted about being cruel just weeks after leaving his wife and ex-girlfriend heartbroken.
The GBBO star, 53, lost two loves of his life in the space of two weeks this summer - dumped by Summer Monteys-Fulham because he repeatedly asked her to sign an NDA, just days after his divorce from Alex Hollywood was granted.
So it may come as no surprise Paul had no qualms in admitting he could be cruel during last night's first instalment of Bake Off 2019.
The baker made the confession during a witty exchange with his fellow GBBO star Prue Leith, 79, as they convened for a chat ahead of the technical challenge.
Prue pointed out Paul revelled in cruelty as she mercilessly ribbed her co-star for saying the angel slice challenge was both "great" and "cruel".
He said: "Takes me back to when I was a kid, got the raspberry and lemon. I think it's a great challenge. We don't know what the bakers are like.
"We're beginning to get to know them. I think it's a pretty cruel technical challenge; great though, great though."
Prue chimed in: "You like a bit of cruelty."
Paul laughed in response: "Yeah, I do."
Recently, Paul went his separate ways for good from Summer after he repeatedly asked her to sign a gagging order which would stop her from talking about their relationship, even with her own family.
The young barmaid, 24, packed up her bags from her love's mansion and moved back in with her mum as she gave him a firm refusal to sign any documents.
Paul broke his silence on Instagram with the statement: "Take what’s read with a pinch of salt and read between the lines. I know the public can’t be duped into believing what’s out there from a person making money selling stories! and continuously courting the paps...
"There’s always two sides to a story you’ve only heard one.. but alas I don’t play those games... thanks again."
Summer has had her own say on the break up as she explained it was “one of the hardest things I have ever done”.
The Paul and Summer love story first begun when the couple crossed paths for the first time at a pub, in Kent.
Paul previously tied the knot with Alex in 1998 but the married lovebirds went their separate ways in 2017 as their 19-year marriage broke down.
