Newcastle United and England legend Paul Gascoigne has urged Mike Ashley to splash the cash for Rafa Benitez.
Benitez's contract is due to expire on June 30, but he hopes to have positive talks with Ashley this week to decide his future.
Ashley was at Fulham for the 4-0 at Craven Cottage as the Geordie faithful urged the owner to give Benitez the job.
Speaking to Talksport, Gazza said today: “Rafa has been unbelievable.
“The good thing about being Newcastle manager is you know how faithful the fans are.
"They’ll always turn up, even if they get beat. They’re incredible.
“I’m not being funny, but Mike Ashley obviously isn’t short a few bob and they’ve got to start giving Rafa money.
“They’ve been saying it for years, but a massive club like that and an unbelievable manager like that, with what he’s achieved, you’ve got to give the guy money.
“Obviously he’s going to spend it wisely, he’s going to spent top class players.
“The money mike Ashley’s got, give me half and I’ll show him how to spend it!”
