Gaz Beadle and new wife Emma held their kids as they said vows at emotional wedding

Gaz Beadle and his new wife finally got married, and they made sure their two children were involved in the day.

The former Geordie Shore star and his bride Emma McVey tied the knot in a stunning ceremony after having to cancel their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Their kids Chester, three, and 18-month-old Primrose were meant to walk down the aisle but became overwhelmed, so the newlyweds had to get them.

This meant that Gaz and Emma said their vows while holding their two toddlers, which Emma says is because lockdown has meant they're not used to being around lots of people.

Emma old OK! magazine: "Although I was super chilled all morning, the whole event was a bit overwhelming for Chester and Primrose.

"They've not been in an environment with so many adults before, especially with lockdown and everything.

"They were supposed to walk down the aisle with my man of honour, Joe, but they were struggling with it, so in the end Prim was carried by my dad, who gave her to Gary, and I carried Chester, who was a little upset, up the aisle."

This meant they said their vows with their children in tow, with Gaz explaining: "We had to.

"Remember, because of the last 18 months, they've only ever known our house and their nurseries, so it's not normal for them."

"There were a lot of tears from Chester," Emma added.

Gaz went on: "And we'e not the sort of people who would leave them with others if they’re crying.

"If they want us for comfort, we'll be there no matter what. Even if we are in the middle of getting married!"

He continued: "Lockdown has meant he's missed out on so much – swimming lessons, baby groups, and that age is so key when it comes to development, so it has affected him.

"So for him to be put in a room with 90 adults, it was scary for him."

The couple's big day included a performance of cover songs by TOWIE star James "Arg" Argent.

Emma's bridal party was headed up by her childhood best friend and "man of honour" Joe and also included her sisters Hayley and Elisha, and three childhood friends.

The reception included moving speeches from Gary, Emma's dad Carl, and Gaz's best man, school friend Ross.

Their wedding came shortly after Emma was diagnosed with three holes in her heart, which will require her to have surgery.

She said the wedding helped her take her mind off things, admitting: "The wedding was a huge distraction for me. It really helped me.

"Now it's the next thing coming up and it’s back on my mind in a big way. It's not ideal, but it’s totally out of my hands now."
