Gayle King predicted Meghan and Harry 'troubles' as they're not 'traditionalists'

Gayle King has claimed that she predicted Meghan Markle and Prince Harry leaving the Royal Family and the UK behind, around 12 months before they announced their decision.

The 66-year-old CBS anchor has been looking into the Queen's life and the future of the Royal Family in a TV special in the United States.

The hour-long broadcast looked "at the Queen extraordinary life and reign", while reviewing some of the "challenges and controversies, romance and heartbreak" that have come during her illustrious reign.

Gayle is known to be close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and has been a vocal supporter of the pair, especially in the wake of their bombshell Oprah interview.

She has also claimed that she predicted Meghan and Harry wanting to make their own way in life because they were looking to live a less "traditional" life away from the constraints of the royals.

Gayle was also one of the select few that had access to see Archie soon after his arrival in 2019 and speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she said that after arrival of their son, the Duke and Duchess could seek out a new life.

She said: "I think the beauty of what Harry and Meghan can do, because it’s highly unlikely he will be king, they can really live a different kind of life.

"They’re still part of the Royal Family, they love being part of the Royal Family and all that comes with that, but I think it also gives them breathing room for things that aren’t traditional.

"Listen, nothing about their relationship is traditional, and I think that’s a great thing."

The Oprah interview led to tensions between Harry and his brother William, the Duke of Cambridge.

Prince William was concerned that no conversations will remain private after the tell-all interview and Gayle has alleged that talks were not productive when the brothers met.

A source close to William has said that the future monarch was concerned "that anything he says to his brother will be plastered over American TV".
