From the stroke of midnight, it will be legal for same-sex couples across England and Wales to get married.

Some are tying the knot as soon as they can, with a number of venues holding ceremonies at 12.01am on Saturday 29 March. Whether you're one of the first to get married this weekend or have plans to get married now same-sex marriage is legal – we want to hear from you.

Share your photos, videos and stories with GuardianWitness. We'd especially like to hear what the legalisation of gay marriage means to you.

You can share your images or stories about your mother by clicking on one of the blue 'Contribute' buttons, or if you're out and about you can download the GuardianWitness app for your smartphone. We will use your most interesting content on theguardian.com.
