Cardiff City have launched a £1.5m bid for Oxford United winger Gavin Whyte, according to reports.
The Northern Ireland international has been on he radar of a number of clubs this summer after impressing during his first season with Oxford.
The latest appears to be Cardiff City whose manager Neil Warnock is understood to be keen on the 23-year-old.
Football Insider reported on Tuesday that sources at the club had told them Cardiff have tabled a seven-figure bid for Whyte.
Nottingham Forest were also linked with a move for the former Irish League star prior to Martin O'Neill's departure earlier this summer.
Whyte scored nine goals and had seven assists for Oxford last season following his move from Crusaders, and also scored on his Northern Ireland debut against Israel.
Oxford recently handed the winger the number 10 jersey ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Speaking at the time, Oxford boss Karl Robinson said: “I have spoken to Gavin and he is naturally honoured to be given the number 10 shirt for the new campaign. He is an exciting player and features highly in our plans going forward."
