Gavin & Stacey writers James Corden & Ruth Jones spark speculation more episodes will happen

It gave us quite possibly one of the best TV cliffhangers EVER but Gavin & Stacey fans aren't convinced we've seen the last of them.

And it's all down to the fact that the show's writers James Corden and Ruth Jones spent Christmas Day night together to watch the episode.

The 60 minute long return of definitely didn't disappoint. There was a great cameo for the ever hilarious Dawn and Pete; Nessa coming up trumps with her always random Christmas presents, a very near reveal of what exactly happened on THAT fishing trip and quite possibly one of when Nessa proposed to Smithy.

Viewers were left uttering Pam's famous line "OH MY CHRIST!" as the credits rolled and, while many took to social media crying out for more episodes and even another full series, others reckon the fact that James and Ruth watched the Christmas Special together suggests that was definitely not the end.

One responded to James' Twitter picture of him and Ruth by writing "OMG, what does Smithy say???? Will he realise that he loves Nessa, will we ever find out about the infamous fishing trip and will Gavin & Stacey get to do it on the ghost train????? So many questions, can only mean one thing there has to be a fourth series."

Echoing those sentiments, another reacted "We have to have closure James and Ruth don't be so cruel as to leave it like that," and a third tweeted "Well quite clearly you now have to make at least one more series. You can’t leave it there."
