Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page voiced her fears about a "dodgy pictures" leak.
The actress, 42, feared the worst when she had a catalogue of missed calls from her former co-star Ruth Jones.
In reality, her friend and colleague had been calling her to tell her about the plans for a Gavin & Stacey Christmas special all these years later.
Joanna expressed it was Ruth's urgency which struck her with concern.
She told The Daily Star : "I thought 'Is she gonna tell me that there are some really dodgy photos of me that are gonna hit the newspapers?'"
But Ruth had secret chats with co-writer James Corden in the United States to write the magical masterpiece.
Joanna expressed her relief when she was let in on the secret of the project.
She added of Ruth: "She said, 'You need to speak to me. I need to talk to you about something. I need to talk to you about something.'
"I thought, 'For God's sake just phone her.' And when she told me I was, 'Oh my God, I am so excited'."
Gavin and Stacey have reunited after a nine years away from their parts.
Filming has finished and the countdown is now on. No doubt this trailer will have caused a stir among the Gavin & Stacey fans.
In a joint statement, they said: "Over the last 10 years we've talked a lot about Gavin And Stacey - where they might be today and what their lives might look like.
"And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one-hour special.
"We've loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy."
