Gavin Shanley: Fears for missing man who could be in Edinburgh as police issue appeal

Fears are growing for a missing man with links to Edinburgh.

Gavin Shanley was last seen in East Kilbride on Sunday evening and police say there are now concerns for his welfare.

They say the 31-year-old has links to Alloa and the Scottish capital, and anyone who thinks they've seen him should come forward.

He is described by police as being 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, shoulder length straight dark hair and a beard which is "more than a stubble but not bushy". He was last seen wearing a dark coloured North Face puffer jacket, dark waterproof trousers and brown walking boots. He was carrying a rucksack.

Police Scotland say: "Anyone who may have seen Gavin since this time, or who has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 0779 of 12 May."
