Gavin Roberton: Special empire biscuit to go on sale to raise funds for Stewarton man in coma

Brownings the Bakers is set to launch a special biscuit to aid a campaign to bring Gavin Roberton home.

The Stewarton man was punched in Ibiza one week ago and is now in a medically induced coma.

The 26-year-old's condition is described as stable and more than £33,000 has been raised to bring him back to Ayrshire.

Now the bakery firm, fronted by John Gall, is set to launch a special 'Bring Gav Home’ empire biscuit on Thursday.

And the entire proceeds of the £1 treat will go towards the fundraising campaign.

A post from Brownings read: "Starting Thursday, we will be selling a special ‘Bring Gav Home’ empire biscuit with the full cost of £1 per empire being donated to help bring Gavin Roberton home.

"Gavin is a local lad from Stewarton who is currently in an induced coma in Ibiza after suffering a fractured skull, as well as bleeding and bruising on his brain when he was punched in the head at a cash machine on a night out.

"Please help us raise as much as we can to help Gavin and his family by popping in to any of our shops or donating to the online fundraiser."
