Gavin James to perform live stream gig in aid of ALONE Ireland

Dublin singer Gavin James is set to perform a gig over live stream in aid of ALONE Ireland.

The Ashington man is at home practicing social distancing and is holding the gig on YouTube this week to bring music to homes and help Ireland's elderly.

It will be taking place at 8pm on Thursday, March 19.

He'll be sharing the link from Wednesday - and will be asking people to donate to ALONE.

He said: "I'm doing a little live stream from my gaff at 8pm on Thursday, just to raise awareness for ALONE Ireland who are looking after all the old folks at the moment.

"So you can watch it for free, but there will be a download link to donate whatever you can to ALONE Ireland.

"I don't know how long it's going to be, we're just going to keep going until we raise loads of money!"

Ireland's generosity has shone throughout the coronavirus pandemic, with thousands raised on GoFundMe.

More than 25 campaigns have been launched in March in aid of those who are effected by the worldwide crisis.

Among the most popular is the Feed the Heroes campaign, which has raised almost €80,000 and the Artist Emergency Relief Fund which has raised over €20,000.
