Gavin and Stacey actress Alison Steadman stunned This Morning viewers as she appeared on the show on Monday.
Alison, better known to millions of Gavin and Stacey fans as Pam, spoke to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby live from her home and talked to them about the virtual quiz she's hosting this week all about the much loved BBC comedy.
And while plenty of people at home were very excited about the prospect of putting their 'tidy' Gavin and Stacey knowledge to good use in the quiz, many were taken aback and left shouting "oh my Christ!" at the screen upon hearing Alison's real life voice, which is a million miles away from Pam's Essex accent.
One tweeted: "Omfg has anyone heard Gavin and Stacey’s “Pam” talk in real life?!?!" and another reacted: "Pam from gavin and stacey doesn't have her essex accent in real life and I can't cope."
A third posted: "Just heard Alison Steadman’s proper voice for first time on This Morning wtf I assumed she would just sound like Pam."
Alison of course hasn't just appeared in Gavin & Stacey. She put her more refined real-life accent to very good use in the 90s when she starred as Mrs Bennett in the hugely popular BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and her other acting credits include Abigail's Party and heartbreaking BBC drama Care.
