Gavin and Stacey's Nessa returns to give 'important public message' - and fans love it

Gavin and Stacy's Nessa has returned to screens to provide some sage coronavirus advice.

Ruth Jones, who plays the bolshy character in the hit comedy, has delighted fans on by bringing back Nessa to provide an 'important public message'.

Jones, 53, reprised the beloved Welsh lorry driver last night to warn viewers about sticking to social distancing.

Dressed in her famous black-bob wig, along with Nessa's signature dark lippy, biker waistcoat and leather glothes, she dished out advice warning everyone 'stay out of my way' as she prepares for a 'marathon' around Barry.

“Oh, what’s occurring? Not a lot - other than a global pandemic... but the question was rhetorical." she says.

“Now listen, I am not here to give advice, there’s plenty of others that would do that for you, it’s your life and I am not about to tell you how to live it.

"I wouldn’t do that to no one. I wouldn’t even tell myself to live my life.”

She continues: “If you see me in the morning doing my daily run, my half-marathon around Barry, don’t even think about breaking that two-metre rule, because if you does, I will not hesitate to tell you quite clearly to ‘back off’.

“Because at the end of the day, when all is said and done, no word of a lie if truth be told, just because you don’t feel ill don’t mean you’re not infectious, you could be riddled.”

“Stay safe, stay out of my way and protect the NHS, obviously it goes without saying."

Fans have praised the star and thanked her for providing some comedy during lockdown.

One fan gushed: "I think this is the best thing I have seen on Twitter for ages!"

Another joked: "Royal message from the real Princess of Wales. Tidy!"

One quipped: "Ness for Prime Minister #backoff."
