Gavin and Stacey's Nessa offers social distancing advice for the coronavirus pandemic

Ruth Jones appeared in character as Gavin and Stacey's Nessa in a video to offer some social distancing advice.

The actress and Gavin and Stacey co-creator's video reminds followers to stick to social distancing guidelines - and warns them about what Nessa would do if anyone gets within two metres of her while she's exercising in South Wales during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nessa says: "Oh, what's occurring?

"Not a lot - other than a global pandemic. Now, listen, I'm not here to give advice. There are plenty of others doing that for you. It's your life and I'm not about to tell you how to live it.

"I wouldn't do that to no one - I wouldn't tell myself how to live my life, but I will say this: if you sees me in the mornings doing my daily run - my half marathon around Barry - don't even think about breaking that two metre rule.

"If you does I will not hesitate to tell you quite clearly to back off.

"At the end of the day, when all is said and done, no word of a lie, if truth be told, just because you don't feel ill don't mean you're not infectious. You could be riddled."

Nessa concludes by saying: "Stay safe, stay out of my way and protect the NHS, obviously. It goes without saying."

Well, that's us told.

Ruth's Gavin and Stacey writing partner, James Corden, tweeted the video to his followers, captioned: "An important public message."Ness ends the message by saying: "Stay safe, stay out of my way and protect the NHS, obviously. It goes without saying."

Gavin and Stacey returned to BBC screens in December 2019 for a Christmas special, 10 years after the show concluded.
