Gavi, Hakim Ziyech - Latest Chelsea transfer rumours ahead of January window

The transfer window is fast approaching.

Chelsea are typically big spenders, and they may need to further strengthen their squad in January if something worthwhile presents itself in the market.

Equally, there may be opportunity for some players to leave in the near future.

The likes of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are out of contract at the end of the season, whilst some others have been linked with moves away.

With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the latest rumours out there.

What?

Roman Abramovich would be willing to sanction a €50million (£42million) move for the Barcelona prodigy.

N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are out of contract in 2023 and the latter will join the former in his 30s by the end of this year.

They remain undisputed starters, but further competition is needed and an injection of young talent is required.

17-year-old Gavi has impressed whilst in the first-team this season and has already attracted interest from the world's biggest clubs.

What?

Xavi is reportedly targeting Chelsea defenders Azpilicueta and Christensen as part of his Barcelona rebuild effort.

The pair are both out of contract next summer and the Spaniard sees the duo as high quality, cheap options.

Barca are operating under well-publicised financial restrictions after making a loss of £404million (€481m) in the last financial year.

Who?

Hakim Ziyech

Where?

The Telegraph

What?

Chelsea haven't made any decisions over the future of Ziyech, but are likely to be reluctant to loan the winger out in January.

The Blues also haven't held any detailed talks with the Moroccan’s representatives.

A loan deal is unlikely to be attractive to Chelsea given the club are still competing in five competitions, including the Club World Cup which is expected to be played in Abu Dhabi in early February.
