'Gave up on Hudson-Odoi then' - Chelsea fans react to Bayern Munich signing Ivan Perisic

Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich have confirmed the singing of Croatian winger Ivan Perisic on loan from Inter Milan.

The German club have been actively searching for a wide player for some time, and their need became greater when Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery left at the expiration of their contracts at the end of last season.

Bayern had Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi as their main target, but have seen a number of offers knocked back by the Blues over the past two transfer windows, with Chelsea determined to keep the England international at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future. Contract talks between the club and the player are still ongoing.

The Bundesliga outfit then turned to Manchester City winger Leroy Sane, but again failed to tempt the Premier League club into parting with their player.

The German international is now out of action for sometime after damaging his cruciate ligament during the Community Shield victory over Liverpool at Wembley, putting doubts over a potential move back to his home country.

Bayern have now moved to adding strength to the wide areas of their squad by confirming the singing on World Cup finalist Ivan Perisic on a loan deal from Serie A side Inter Milan.

Lampard: 'A harsh lesson for my young team today'

The confirmation has caused a reaction from Chelsea fans, some of which are mocking the German club in failing to land any of their top targets.

Take a look below for some of the reaction from Blues fans.

Hudson-Odoi is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a ruptured achilles injury, and will be hoping to be back in action at Stamford Bridge for the early part of the season.
