A dog has been found dumped outside an RSPCA centre after being abandoned by her owner overnight.
The unwanted pet was tied up to a gate and discovered by shocked staff with her head poking through desperate to be freed on Wednesday morning.
The little grey Staffie - now named Misty - had been heartlessly dumped at RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre, in Leicester.
Misty looked gaunt and also had been left with cuts on her nose, and her skin is in a bad state.
A spokesman for the animal charity said: "She was stood with her head pushed through the bars of the gate, her ears back with these big, brown puppy dog eyes.

"She just looked so sad and frightened, it was heartbreaking.
"She's doing okay in kennels but feels really sorry for herself, which is understanding.
"She must be so confused and disorientated."
RSPCA inspector Karl Marston is now investigating what happened to the poor pooch, and hopes to bring the offenders to justice.

He said: "Poor Misty was skinny and her ribs were clearly visible.
"She also had some cuts on her nose and an uncomfortable skin condition.
"She was microchipped so we've made enquiries with the contact details registered but understand she was rehomed a number of years ago."
Karl is calling for the public to help find the perpetrators.
He added: "We're now hoping the public may be able to help with our investigation so anyone who recognises Misty should contact our appeal line on 0300 123 8018."
