Holidaymakers at Gatwick Airport were forced to evacuate the airport temporarily after a fire alarm in a branch of Nando's went off.
Fire alarms sounded in the airport’s South Terminal on Monday forcing passengers the wait outside the terminal building.
One witness said he saw staff members "sprinting towards Nando's".

Others complained that they were given little information about what was happening during the evacuation, tweeting:
Fire at Gatwick Airport. Passengers directed to fire exit. Lack of info & organisation poor. People calm, poor communication by staff. Bad!

@Gatwick_Airport Can you advise what's happening re the fire alarm? There seems to be no one in charge

If this is how Gatwick deal with a fire at Nandos, I hope I'm not around for any major incidents. Chaos here. Total lack of info.

The fire alarm went off at around 11:20am and people were allowed back into the terminal at approximately 11:45am, according to the Evening Standard.
Gatwick posted on Twitter: "Apologies to anyone who was temporarily evacuated from the South Terminal departure lounge due to a fire alarm. We're back up & running now."
