Gators return to top 25 in men's basketball for first time since 2014

Florida Gators' hot start during coach Mike White's second season has vaulted them back into the Top 25 for the first time since 2014.

The Gators (6-1) debuted at No. 25 in this week's Associated Press poll following Sunday's 65-65 win over Miami during the third-place game of the AdvoCare Invitational in Lake Buena Vista.

White's squad defeated Seton Hall during Thursday's opening round, but fell 77-72 Friday to Gonzaga, ranked No. 8 this week.

The Gators last were ranked in November of 2014, when former coach Billy Donovan's final UF squad checked in at No. 18.

The Gators are scheduled visit North Florida on Thursday. It will be UF's final game before a Dec. 6 meeting with No. 5 Duke during the Jimmy V Classic in Madison Square Garden.

UF ranks No. 6 in the Ratings Percentage Index _ one of the tools used by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee in March to pick the 68-team field. Duke is No. 14.
