The Florida Gators moved up to No. 7 in the latest top-25 polls and are poised to play back-to-back top-10 matchups for the first time since the 2009 SEC-title game and 2010 Sugar Bowl.
The Gators moved up three spots in the Associated Press and coaches' top-25 polls released Sunday after they pulled away for a 24-13 win over then-No 7 Auburn Saturday during homecoming in the Swamp.
Now UF (6-0, 3-0, SEC) must prepare to face LSU (5-0, 1-0 SEC) in Death Valley. The Tigers are ranked No. 5 in the latest AP poll and No. 6 in the coaches' poll.
For the second consecutive week and third time this season, ESPN's College GameDay will be broadcast in the same city as the Gators' game, this time in Baton Rouge, La. GameDay was on hand for UF's season-opening win over Miami in Orlando and Florida's win over Auburn Saturday.
Elsewhere, UCF dropped out of the top-25 polls after 33 consecutive appearances following a 27-24 loss at Cincinnati Friday.
Boise State is the highest-ranked Group of 5 team, checking in at No. 14 in both polls. The highest-ranked Group of 5 conference champion in the final College Football Playoff rankings earns a spot in a New Year's Six Access Bowl. UCF earned the past two Access Bowl bids.
No other team in the state of Florida is ranked or receiving votes.
Alabama remained atop both polls, followed by Clemson. Georgia and Ohio State tied for No. 3 in the AP poll while the Bulldogs were No. 3 and Buckeyes No. 4 in the coaches' poll.
