Gateshead's By The River Brew reveals its opening date - and customers are delighted

It's the news its customers have been waiting for: By The River Brew Co. in Gateshead has announced it will be reopening on July 4.

The news came the day after Trakol, the restaurant which operates inside the container set-up on the banks of the Tyne, announced its own return to business.

On Wednesday, apparently in response to a deluge of inquiries from eager fans, By The River Brew promised that the next day it too would share its opening date.

And, true to its word, it announced on its Facebook page early on Thursday evening that it would be reopening its terraced beer garden from midday on July 4, with followers calling it "fantastic news".

It will not be taking advance bookings for its beer terrace and first customers will be greeted and seated on arrival.

Table service will be in operation and for those also wanting a snack with their drink there will be a street food truck available at weekends.

Trakol also reopens inside on July 4 but, with table numbers reduced, reservations for its opening weekend are aready full, although there is availability after that.

The adjacent hawkers' market - HWKRMRKT - will remain closed for the time being while the Backyard Bikeshop Cafe, which is also on the Gateshead site and has been offering daily takeaways, will now be offering table service too from July 4.
