Gatehouse Primary won Kirkcudbright Rotary Club’s schools’ quiz.
They saw off competition from Auchencairn, Borgue and Kirkcudbright Primaries to win the competition which was held in Gatehouse.
A sizeable audience of teachers, family, friends and Rotarians saw question master Paul Tebay quiz the youngsters on a variety of subjects including arts, science and technology, pot luck and, new for this year, an observation round.

The teams were supported by a member of Kirkcudbright Rotary who was on hand to help the students understand the questions.
Gatehouse defeated Borgue Primary by just one and a half points and now go forward to the area final of the Rotary District 1020 quiz on Tuesday, April 30.
Club president Gordon Cowan handed over the trophy to the winning team and presented all the young people with certificates.
He thanked everyone who had made the evening a success and congratulated all those who took part.
