Gatehouse of Fleet teacher provides voiceover for Stewartry landscape video

A Gatehouse primary school teacher, writer and musician has added another occupation to his list of talents – doing voiceovers for videos.

Alan McClure has narrated the Coastal Forts of Borgue, a short film shot from the air depicting historic locations along the coastline.

Galloway and South Ayrshire commissioned Alan to put words to the footage as part of its PLACE in the Biosphere project.

Alan’s softly-spoken commentary explains the rich Gaelic and Norse heritage of fortified cliff-top sites. He said: “It was a nice thing to be involved with.

“The way in which place names provide a link to the past has always been a fascination to me.”

The Coastal Forts of Borgue features ancient fortifications at Castle Haven, Barn Heugh, Muncraig and Ringdoo.
