Gatecrasher who murdered party guest with kitchen knife has escaped prison

A convicted murderer who stabbed a man to death at a party is now wanted by police after 'asbsconding' from prison.

Thomas Parkinson, 31, formerly of Acacia Street, Preston, is wanted by police after making off from HMP Kirkham on April 24.  Parkinson was jailed for life after stabbing Shaun Higgins in the back at a house party in Preston.

This man could be jailed if he gets drunk in his home town , who had not been invited to the party, stabbed Mr Higgins in the back with a large kitchen knife after being asked to leave. The 23-year-old was taken to hospital but later died. Parkinson was sentenced to life in prison in April 2007 for his murder.

Police are now keen to trace Parkinson after he made off from HMP Kirkham.

He is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, of slim build with cropped brown hair and green eyes. Parkinson has links to the Warrington, Widnes and Bolton areas.

Police are appealing for information and advising people not to approach him.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said to the ECHO : “We would urge anyone with information about Parkinson’s whereabouts to contact us. 

“Parkinson could be violent and we would ask anyone who knows where is not to approach him but to call police immediately.

“Furthermore, we would encourage Parkinson, if he sees this appeal, to do the right thing and come forward.”
