The long-awaited return of Bristol Rovers fans to the Mem has been delayed again after Saturday's pre-season friendly with Swansea City was cancelled.
The Swans reported positive COVID-19 tests in their camp on Saturday morning, meaning Gasheads' 501-day wait to see their team play at home will last a little longer.
It is a blow to Joey Barton's plans with just a fortnight remaining until the League Two season kicks off at Mansfield, with just two more games on Rovers' pre-season schedule to get his players up to speed.
Several Gas players, both new faces and old, were due to make their first appearances of the summer this afternoon.
Rovers host Havant & Waterlooville on Tuesday before facing Oxford United at the Mem a week from today.
Supporters who bought tickets or streaming passes will be refunded in due course, a club spokesman said.
"After positive cases were identified within the Swansea camp, it was decided that it was in the best interests of both players and staff, to cancel Saturday’s game to minimise the potential spread of the virus," a statement added.
"We would like to thank all supporters for their understanding on this matter and wish all of those affected a speedy recovery."
A statement from Swansea added: "In keeping with Welsh Government guidelines, those individuals who tested positive will now undergo a period of isolation.
"All staff and players within the first team bubble will undergo ongoing monitoring and testing.
"We would like to thank Bristol Rovers for their understanding on this matter and wish them well for the season ahead."
