Gas works to leave Stoneyburn and Bents residents without a bus service

Residents of Stoneyburn and Bents in West Lothian have been advised that revised public transport arrangements are in place whilst gas works are ongoing.

The B7015 Main Street will be closed for a 15 week period, from Monday January 6, to facilitate works by Scotland Gas Networks (SGN) and for the duration of this closure bus services will follow a diversion route, which omits Stoneyburn & Bents.

These essential works are required to replace existing cast iron gas mains with polyurethane pipes.

To minimise disruption, SGN are funding two free demand-responsive Taxibus services which will allow passengers to access diverted bus services for onward travel. One will connect to Addiewell/Loganlea and the other connects to Fauldhouse.

The taxibus services will only operate at set times, and are required to be pre-booked a minimum of 1 hour in advance of travelling. Journeys will only operate where they have been pre-booked.

When booking the service, passengers should inform the call handler which bus stop they intend to be picked up from and a pick up time will be provided. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are also bookable on request.

Passengers can accesss the Taxibus services from all existing bus stops in Stoneyburn and Bents and will then be dropped off or picked up in Addiewell/Loganlea. Drop off and pick up in Faudlhouse will take place at Fauldhouse Partnership Centre.
