Gas masks, military badges and uniforms stolen from Nottinghamshire antiques shop

Gas masks, military badges, and old army uniforms have been stolen from a Nottinghamshire antiques store.

Around £300 of goods, as well as a cash register and limited edition coins, were taken when a shop a Leeming Street, Mansfield, was burgled on April 21.

Following a CCTV appeal police officers were able to arrest a 30-year-old man on Wednesday.

Officers say it comes as they maintain a strong police presence in the town.

Sergeant Carl Holland, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We have been carrying out a series of enquires since the incident happened and we're pleased that a man has now been arrested in connection to this incident.

"Burglaries can be extremely distressing and hugely impact on the business owner and wider community and we do everything we can to protect them from harm.

"We have a strong police presence in Mansfield town centre and have a series of operations, which include overnight plain-clothed activity, in a bid to keep the streets safe and catch offenders unawares."
