Gary Sinise's Son Mac Dies At Age 33 From Cancer

Gary Sinise's son Mac passed away at 33 due to cancer.

Hollywood is rallying around Gary Sinise after the actor shared the heartbreaking news of his son Mac's passing at the age of 33. Mac, who battled cancer, passed away on January 5 and was laid to rest on January 23.

In a message on the Gary Sinise Foundation's website, the actor expressed the family's profound grief, emphasizing the difficulty of losing a child. Sinise extended his sympathy to all who have experienced similar losses, acknowledging the universal pain of losing a loved one.

Following the announcement, numerous celebrities took to Instagram to offer their condolences and support to Sinise and his family. Messages of love, prayers, and strength poured in from Angie Harmon, Alyssa Milano, Robert Patrick, Katharine McPhee Foster, Mary McCormick, and others.

Singer Alec Benjamin shared his memories of Mac from their college days, highlighting his kindness and talent. Actress Kelly Carlson praised Sinise for his strength and caring nature throughout the challenging times.

Sinise revealed that Mac was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Chordoma in August 2018, shortly after his wife Moira Harris battled stage 3 breast cancer. While Moira successfully fought cancer and remains in remission, Mac's condition deteriorated over time, leading to significant disabilities.

The family's cancer journey spanned over 5½ years, with Mac bravely facing the incurable disease. Sinise expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and admiration for Mac's resilience in the face of adversity.

As the Hollywood community stands in solidarity with Gary Sinise and his family during this difficult time, the actor's message serves as a poignant reminder of the strength and love that bind families together in times of loss.
