Gary Neville has been trying to wind up Liverpool and their fans ahead of the upcoming Premier League clash with Manchester United.
The top two teams in the division are due to go head-to-head at Anfield on Sunday, January 17.
Reigning champions Liverpool currently top the table but second-placed United only trail them on goal difference.
Jurgen Klopp's men do have a chance to go three points clear when they take on Southampton at St Mary's tonight (Monday, 8pm kick-off).
But whatever happens, former United defender Neville says he cannot wait for the Anfield showdown.
Neville stirred up a reaction when he stated that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men were "joint top" with Liverpool.
"I only used it last week, you know, just to tweak the tail of the tiger," he said on his latest Sky Sports podcast.
"It worked a little bit, so I thought I'd use it again!"
Looking ahead to the Liverpool v United game, he added: "I'm so looking forward to that, not because I'm thinking Manchester United are going to go to Anfield and win but Manchester United have become competitive out of nowhere.
"When was that Manchester derby - four weeks ago? I remember myself, Roy Keane and Micah Richards were sat on that platform at Old Trafford saying that Chelsea and Liverpool and Tottenham were far ahead of the two Manchester clubs at this moment in time.
"Now, Manchester City will feel a lot better after their performance at Chelsea and Manchester United are sat there - after some really awful first-half performances, mainly - level on points with Liverpool.
"If you'd have said at the start of this season, or even five weeks ago, that Manchester United would be level on points with Liverpool, I'd have said no chance, that can't happen.
"That shows how unusual this season is. Manchester United have picked up form and what they have is a lot of match-winners - Cavani, Martial, James, Greenwood, Rashford, Fernandes, Pogba. All of them can turn a match.
"(Also) Van de Beek, who's not even playing at the moment hardly - game changers, match winners, and they do it in moments. And they don't always have to be playing well when they've got that type of player on the pitch.
"The performances are getting better. It's a work in progress. It's not by any stretch the finished article and at times in games, they mesmerise you for 10 minutes and then they can turn into a nightmare for 10 minutes, and that's how they have been.
"But there is confidence building, and there's a little bit of something just growing, and the spirit at the end of the (Aston Villa) game when you saw the players celebrating was nice to see.
"I think a couple of years ago I said quite publicly at the time it was a team I didn't like watching, wearing those red shirts.
"I see them now and I thought last season they looked a lot happier playing for the club, and this season they seem happier again."
So, does Neville think United can mount a serious title challenger this season?
"Who knows? Who knows? I don't think they will win the league, is my honest opinion," he said. "I don't think they are quite there - but I didn't think they were going to be anywhere near the top of the league at this stage of the season, and they are.
"And for that, we will look forward to Anfield with great glee and hope that we can just tweak the tail of the tiger a little bit more!"
