Gary Neville tells Pep Guardiola to make one change to Man City team for Burnley fixture

Manchester City trail Liverpool by two points in the Premier League title race but will return to the summit of the table if they win their game in hand against Burnley on Sunday.

Despite winning a critical league match away to United on Wednesday thanks to goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane, former United and England defender Gary Neville has urged Pep Guardiola to make changes to his City team for the trip to Turf Moor.

Oleksandr Zinchenko started at left-back for Guardiola's men at Old Trafford but Neville insists that the Blues need to adopt a different approach for the upcoming game.

The Sky Sports pundit reckons Burnley's direct style of play will put City's defenders under a lot of aerial pressure and he believes City would benefit from Nicolas Otamendi coming into the team.

"Burnley are one of the hardest working teams in the league. City struggled there last year," Neville said. "They will not let Manchester City off easy.

"Pep Guardiola has spoken about wanting to control Burnley. Zinchenko played left-back the other night at Old Trafford but I wonder whether Nicolas Otamendi will come in and Aymeric Laporte will go to left-back.

Man City fans send Pep Guardiola definitive selection message ahead of Burnley trip

"I feel like they need to do that because to control Burnley you have to contend with the aerial threat and that direct play. They put a lot of pressure on you and if they get their tails up, it could be a very difficult game for City."
