Gary Neville stunned by David de Gea's howler as Jose Mourinho watches on before Tottenham vs Chelsea

David de Gea had a moment to forget for Manchester United against Watford today - and you just have to watch Gary Neville's reaction to see what a mistake it was.

Ahead of Tottenham's Premier League derby against Chelsea, Jose Mourinho was giving his pre-match interview to Sky Sports in the bowels of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - but the Special One was cut short by events at Vicarage Road.

The interviewer directed the Sky cameraman to record Neville's stunned reaction as De Gea let a simple Ismaela Sarr effort slip through his fingers to put Watford 1-0 up.

Former United captain Neville (working as a pundit for Sky) was shocked by the goalkeeper's gaffe, while Mourinho - who was sacked by the Red Devils just over a year ago - watched the TV monitor replays of the goal.

Given Mourinho has always enjoyed using the media to his and his team's advantage, it was perhaps no surprise that the coach betrayed no hint of emotion given that a camera was barely a foot away from him.

However, with United going on to lose 2-0 and miss out on the chance to cut the gap on the top four, it could turn out to be a near-perfect day for Mourinho.

If Spurs win, they will leapfrog Chelsea into fourth place for Christmas.
