Gary Neville slams Granit Xhaka for what he did during North London derby

Gary Neville has blasted Granit Xhaka for his tackle on Son Heung-min during Sunday's North London derby.

With Arsenal already trailing to Christian Eriksen's early opener, Xhaka gifted Spurs the chance to double their lead from the penalty spot for his rash challenge on the South Korean star.

Harry Kane stepped up to fire home from 12 yards and Sky Sports pundit Neville didn't hold back in a damning assessment of the Swiss international.

He said: “[It's] absolute madness from Xhaka. He does it week in, week out. Season after season. He doesn’t seem to learn.”

Graeme Souness added: "[You've got to] stay on your feet, especially in the box.

"It’s a an obvious penalty. it’s such an invitation for Son to go to ground – even if he doesn’t make contact with him and then the penalty is sublime.

"He's 26 years old. It's something you learn in your first week as a footballer."

“It was a ridiculous tackle to make,” added Jamie Redknapp.

Alexandre Lacazette pulled one back for Arsenal in first-half stoppage-time before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struck after the break to earn the Gunners a point.
