Gary Neville has issued a strong warning to any Manchester United players who may feel inclined to 'down tools' during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reign.
The former Manchester United defender has spoken extensively about his ex-team-mate ahead of the Champions League quarter-final clash against Barcelona.
Neville touched on a range of topics including why he feels Solskjaer was always ready for management. But Neville has also said that United's stars should be wary about treating Solskjaer in the same way they did previous boss Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho lost the dressing room and many top players were accused of 'downing tools'.
Neville, however, insists such a tactic won't work on Solskjaer because the United fans will not give up on the former striker.
"Those current players have got a job to do to keep playing, because if they do down tools on him, they'll have nowhere to go," Neville told Sky Sports.
"Jose Mourinho, along with Pep Guardiola, is one of the greatest managers of the last 20 years. People don't feel sorry for him, they don't show a great deal of sympathy for him, which is wrong in some ways, because I think he deserved some at the end at United.
"But the fans won't turn on Ole Gunnar Solskajer. The players will have to perform under him and give their all. If they give their all and it doesn't quite work out, that's fine, but if they do down tools or don't start playing with the work ethic they have done previously, they'll have a problem.
"The fans will stick with Ole. There's no doubt about that."
