The absence of Leeds United's missing weapon was evident against Manchester City after a dominant first-half performance from the visitors.
Kevin de Bruyne hit the post with a deceiving free-kick which caught out Illan Meslier and from then on the signs were ominous.
City did break the deadlock after wave after wave of attacks, with Raheem Sterling curling a low strike beyond Meslier after selling Robin Koch on the edge of the area.
The Whites hit back with a half-chance for Ezgjan Alioski but the ease at which City were able to strut their stuff on the Elland Road turf was a timely reminder that Leeds are short of a powerful string in their bow.
The absence of 40,000 Leeds supporters ferociously cheering their side forward was evident as City calmly played out from the back, as underlined by Gary Neville in co-commentary.
“It’s my first time back here for some time," the former Manchester United captain said.
"It’s a monstrous place, this one, it really is. I wish it was full, it would add so much.”
That same point was made too by Jamie Redknapp before kick-off, who added: "I love the energy they play with, all Bielsa sides play with energy, and this side is no exception and I’ve really, really enjoyed it.
"It’s a shame there’s no crowd in there because playing at Elland Road was so special when that crowd started to roar.”
Against Fulham, the emptiness of one of England's most iconic stadiums didn't play too much of an impact.
When the big boys come to town, it shows.
