Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes that partnering N'Golo Kante with Matteo Kovacic gets the best out of the World Cup winner.
The Blues are looking to return to winning ways in their trip across London to face Arsenal, having suffered a surprising defeat to Southampton on Boxing Day.
Defeat for Lampard's side would leave the battle for a top-four finish wide open, while victory would see Chelsea restore their four-point advantage over Manchester United.
For the remainder of the season, Kante is going to be crucial for Chelsea in their battle to meet their objectives and Neville believes playing alongside Kovacic in a two-man midfield is the best approach.
"Against Spurs, it was the best I’ve seen him play in a long time because I'm not at every Chelsea game.
We talked about Willian and Mason Mount, who were outstanding, but I think Kante completely dominated the midfield,” he told Sky Sports.
"He's a world class player and I think him alongside Kovacic looked really good.
"Jorginho has played a lot of football in the past 18 months, he’s a different type of player, but them two seemed to bounce off each other quite well.
"There was a bit more energy and I think it suited Kante being in that flat two rather than being in front of a three."
