Gary Neville predicts when Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool

Gary Neville has dropped a transfer bombshell - by claiming Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

The Egyptian forward has become a star man for the Reds since his move from Roma two years ago.

Salah has won the golden boot in both seasons since his arrival, and was pivotal in the Reds Champions League triumph.

But Neville believes the 27-year-old's time at Anfield could soon be coming to an end.

Speaking on Sky Bet's Big Debate with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, Neville said: "Salah’s going to leave in the next 12 months, I can see it already.

"He [Carragher] knows, he won’t say it. I can see it, you can feel it, you can smell it, you know when a player’s like…"

Salah has previously been linked with a move to Real Madrid , but it is not thought that a formal approach has been made.

The forward cost Liverpool a now-modest sum of £34 million when he made the switch in 2017.

He would no doubt command at least three times that amount were he to leave Anfield next summer.

There have been many views suggesting that whilst Salah is happy at Liverpool, he is using the club as a stepping stone to joining one of the big clubs in Spain.

And Neville believes Salah's departure could well pave the way for Man Utd to overtake Liverpool in the race for the Premier League.

He added: "I can guarantee you as clear as day, Manchester United will win again. They’ll probably win the league before Liverpool, in my opinion.

"And that’s not being disrespectful, they’ll probably win the league before Liverpool."

A number of players have left Liverpool for Spain previously, and succeeded.

Luis Suarez, Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano have all proved to be big hits in La Liga after moving from the Reds.

However Salah can take former teammate Philippe Coutinho's current situation at Barcelona as a word of warning.

The Brazilian has found himself outcast in Spain just 18 months after signing for the club, and now looks certain to leave this summer.
