Gary Neville predicts Arsenal to avoid key Chelsea problem in Premier League clash vs Liverpool

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes Arsenal will not be as wasteful as Chelsea were with their chances against Liverpool. The Gunners are set to face Jurgen Klopp's side on Sunday but have not won at Anfield since 2012.

Chelsea wasted a number of a good chances against the Reds during their 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. Kai Havertz had a goal disallowed for handball as the Blues need for a clinical striker became evident once again.

Klopp was without his star defender Virgil van Dijk against but admitted the Dutchman could be in contention to face the north Londoners on Sunday afternoon. The Merseyside outfit are chasing down a top four spot to qualify for next season's Champions League whilst Arsenal are looking to lift their first Premier League title in 19 years.

The United legend predicted Arsenal to not waste chances against Liverpool on Sunday as Chelsea did in the 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge last night. During the game, Neville said: "It’s for certain if they were to give Arsenal the chances they’ve given Chelsea tonight, they would be well behind in the game on Sunday."

Van Dijk's absence from the squad highlighted the defensive frailty still present in Klopp's squad. Trent Alexander-Arnold was dropped from the starting XI as Joe Gomez started at right-back.

Gomez, Joel Matip and Kostas Tsimikas all made defensive mistakes during the game which led to good chances for the west Londoners to score, but Havertz and Joao Felix were unable to give the hosts the lead. The Reds' midfield lacked energy and stability which could see Arsenal run riot at Anfield on Sunday if Liverpool put in a similar performance as they did at Stamford Bridge.
