Gary Neville perfectly sums up VAR role in Tottenham draw as Man City fans fume

Manchester City fans' current feelings have been summed up by a brilliant assessment of their 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur by Gary Neville.

Raheem Sterling opened the scoring for Pep Guardiola's side with a header from close range but Erik Lamela's left-footed shot from outside the  box tied the contest.

Sergio Aguero put the Blues back in front but a header from substitute Lucas Moura levelled up the match late in the second half.

There was still time for plenty of drama as Gabriel Jesus scored but the goal was ruled out by VAR due to a handball from Aymeric Laporte.

Neville explained post-match that VAR was the best performer this evening for Tottenham.

"Tottenham fans are singing VAR. VAR has probably been their best player today. I cannot think of anything more important for them today," Neville told Sky Sports.

It's safe to say City fans had a similar disbelief to Neville post-game, with many disappointed by the call.
