Gary Neville names two Man Utd players who were taught a lesson vs Barcelona

Gary Neville has taken aim at Manchester United duo David De Gea and Paul Pogba, who were taught a lesson against Barcelona on Tuesday night.

Lionel Messi and co. ran amok in the Champions League quarter-final clash as Barcelona beat Manchester United 3-0 in the second leg (4-0 on aggregate).

Paul Pogba had a poor game by his usual standards, while De Gea was at fault for United's second goal after he fumbled a speculative Messi effort into his own net.

Neville spoke out about his former team's performance on Sky Sports after the game and revealed his disappointment in De Gea and Pogba.

Ruud Gullit identifies "huge mistake" Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made vs Barcelona

"The David De Gea second goal took the game away from United, it deflated the whole team and took the spirit out of them," said Neville.

"I don't know where it came from. I know people have said De Gea has made some mistakes in the last 12 months - but not many like that for Manchester United. I can't think of any like that for Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has his say on David de Gea's blunder against Barcelona

"It was a bad goal to lose. I hope he comes out and fronts up.

"I think it's important when you make a mistake of that nature, in your home country, he's now an experienced player. I hope he's the one who comes out and explains it. I think that would bode well for him."

On Pogba Neville added: "Pogba's now playing how he was pre-Ole's arrival.

"I thought he was really poor tonight, rolling his foot over the ball all the time, playing for himself, not popping it off and moving, didn't look interested at times - but he's a great player, and can be a great player, he just needs to get that focus back."
